American lopseed, Phryma leptostachya. I just learned this plant this spring–it’s one of the indicator species that we use at work in our rich cove monitoring protocol.

Yes, this is Lopseed (Phryma leptostachya). It’s such a delicate-looking plant with its small flowers and little seed cases.
