    This looks like Alum Root, Huechera parviflora that I see near where I live in Colorado. It is in the Saxifragaceae family.

  2. Heuchera americana. Alum-root. I just learned this one this spring from a friend who is taking the Master Gardener course. She knows the garden variety, in the various colors, and happened to point it out to me on one of our daily walks. Saxifrage family.

    Kathy and Pamela. . . yes, this is Alumroot. Pamela actually got the species name correct as this is Heuchera americana — in the Saxifrage family (Saxifragaceae). I think the leaves are so distinctive and beautiful, while the flowers are unremarkable.

    Coral Bell is the garden variety…we planted red and green leaf plants…very pretty
